Trees are budding, flowers are blooming, and the May issue is full of features about people and places worth discovering.
First, if you're looking for fun things to do this month, we've included a variety of yoga, wine, music (and more!) activities to include on your to-do list (12 pages). While you get your cardio in, read Grapes, Wine, and the Finish Line (16 pages) about the La Grange winery running series. Just lace up your sneakers and take a sip.
Are there any Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts? You'll want to meet Kierstin Safford (page 18). He is an Eagle Scout who is heading toward a bright future and doing great things for our community. Oh, and if you're the crafty type who can't get enough DIY in a day, check out his DIY Duo (page 36) about the lovely couple who currently run AR His Workshop in Bristow. Please check it by all means.
And since it's Mother's Day this month, we're also celebrating here with profiles of a few mothers and daughters who run businesses together and love every moment of it. Meet Jocelyn King and her daughter Amelia, owners of Nothing Bundt Cakes, Daysi Vargas and her daughter Biellca of Bravo Jetting Solutions, and Christy Melender and her mother Sue Hill, co-owners of Bombshell Beauty Lounge. Three lovely stories start on her 24 pages.
Speaking of Mother's Day, if you're looking for gift ideas, we recommend visiting the Archwood Green Barns Farmers Market (page 32). We have fresh food, unique gifts, and all kinds of treasures to treat your mom to. Of course, if she already has enough accoutrements, perhaps a dance class will make her day. Gabrielle and Lee Gamboa own the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Gainesville (page 28) and we're sure they'll be happy to take you and your mom for lessons. . Mom doesn't want to dance? You can always make her dinner. Check out the perfect pasta and hurry up with your curry! (42 pages) For delicious meal ideas that mom will love. Be sure to clean the kitchen after cooking!
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers around the world. See you next month!
