GREENTOWN — Nina Broniak carefully hung her business sign Friday, holding it firmly in place with her hands and pressing down on all the folds.
On the table in front of her is a bag containing some of the cosmetics she sells for Senegence International, an American company that supplies skin care and makeup products, including the brand LipSense. It was placed there.
Broniak is a local dealership and just one of 83 vendors at this year's Z92.5 Home and Lifestyle Show, which will be held this weekend at the 4-H Pavilion at the Howard County Fairgrounds.
“It's like one big family,” Broniak said of the vendors at this year's show, which will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
And organizers say this year there will be a little something for everyone.
“We wanted to get back here,” Laura Lamanna, general sales manager for Z92.5 and Hoosier FM, told the Tribune during preparations Friday. “This will be our 48th performance. But after the coronavirus, we shut down and lost our venue (Kokomo Event & Conference Center). So last year, we brought it back and brought it here in Greentown. And I'm very happy that this is a great community event.”
Ramanna added that along with dozens of local vendors, there will also be several activities for the whole family, including a children's play area by the Fun Factory outlet, food trucks and midday yoga. Ta.
Adele Howell, sales account executive at Z92.5, said she was excited about the show overall, but also grateful that so many local businesses wanted to participate.
“I think this is contributing to our community,” she said. “I think it's just about showcasing what our community has to offer when it comes to the housing and lifestyle aspects. It's also a great way for businesses to get the word out about themselves.
“How many times have you driven by a place and wondered what was inside, but actually went inside?” Howell added. “Well, this is a way to find those locations in a one-stop-shop environment, where everything is in one place, almost like a superstore.”
Lamanna agreed with Howell.
“As our slogan says, what’s happening in the community is happening in the Z(92.5),” she said. “We're very interactive within the community. And we always support small businesses, local businesses, non-profit businesses. And it's great for them to come and support us when they can. I think it’s our way of giving back.”
Vendor Suzanne Biddle is the office manager for Flags and More, a backyard gardener division.
On Friday morning, Biddle spoke to the Tribune for a few minutes about the Home & Lifestyle Show and specifically what he's looking forward to this weekend.
“This is a great way to get together and see what other businesses have to offer,” she said. “It's also a great networking tool. And it's good for the community, too. The fact that this has been gone for a while, but has come back in the last few years, is that the community wanted it back.” We are ready to get back to supporting local businesses through initiatives like this.”
