LET'S SWIM is a new swimwear and lifestyle brand from designer David Koma, offering an exploration of the ocean and its vast environment. At the heart of the collection sits the mascot 'LET'S SWIM', a humble shark intended to represent conservation and protection.
The new label, born out of Koma's love of travel, aims to emulate the “undressed state” by expressing the feeling of freedom and freedom that comes from being at the beach or by the pool.
“LET'S SWIM has provided me with a platform to explore new interests, the concept of combining my love of travel with my work in fashion. I have always been intrigued by single-product brands. But swimsuits felt like a natural outlet for my creativity. LET'S SWIM combines the idea of traveling to beautiful destinations with my fascination with sharks and aquatic life. It celebrates the beauty and wonders of the marine world together and helps change people's misconceptions about sharks through cinematic stories told by divers. And then there are conservationists,” says Koma.
Recreating classic silhouettes, the first collection takes inspiration from '80s swimwear and features 10 bikinis, five swimsuits and eight beachwear cover-ups. Standout pieces include one-shoulder bandeau swimsuits and mesh maxi dresses in shades of blue, red, white, and black.
Sustainability is key to the LET'S SWIM brand, with 96% of its products made from ECOYNYL, a recycled nylon yarn made from post-consumer waste. 100% of his collection is made from organic cotton and recycled polyamide, and the packaging is also fully recyclable. The brand also aims to make the ocean safer for marine life by working with divers, shark conservationists and charities.
