Christina Aguilera believes women face a “double standard” in the entertainment industry.
The 43-year-old singer says she has always felt “shamed” for expressing her sexuality and “trying to empower other women” throughout her career.
Christina, who launched her own sexual wellness brand Playground last year, told Adweek: [sexuality] It's been such a big part of my life, my world, my music.
“I experienced double standards firsthand [put on women]; and I've been ashamed of being open, of expressing myself sexually, of trying to own my body, and of trying to empower other women. people are afraid of it. ”
Christina, who has 9-year-old Summer with Matthew Rattler and 15-year-old Max with Jordan Bratman, is determined to instill good values in her children.
The blonde beauty explained: [my daughter] To grow up and feel comfortable as a woman without shame or prejudice.
“I want my son to understand and appreciate women's struggles and what women go through, and to feel like he's part of the conversation.”
Christina previously admitted that she has open conversations with her children about sexual health.
The award-winning star is not “afraid or shy” to discuss such issues with her children.
She told PEOPLE in 2023: “At this point in my life as a mother, it's really important to me to open up this conversation to my daughter and make sure she feels safe and empowered to ask me questions early in her life. ”The question is.
