Ashlee Simpson's experience co-parenting with Pete Wentz was “amazing.”
The 39-year-old star has a 15-year-old son, Bronx, with her ex-husband, and Ashley and Pete have remained on good terms since their separation.
“Co-parenting has been great for me, and Pete is a great guy,” Ashley said during an appearance on the Rachel Bilson and Olivia Allen Broad Ideas podcast.
Asked if she ever won the “co-parenting lottery”, Ashley, who was married to Pete from 2008 to 2011, replied: “That's right! That's what I was about to say. I won the co-parenting lottery. “Yes,” he answered.
Ashley's husband, Evan Ross, also shares a good relationship with his eldest son.
She said, “I feel like we started when Bronx was two and a half, so Bronx didn't know any different.”
Meanwhile, Ashley recently revealed that she and Evan are making a concerted effort to keep their romance “vivid and fresh.”
The singer and Evan, 35, will celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary in August, and Ashley admitted she's already looking forward to the milestone.
she told PEOPLE. “We have big things planned for the end of the year. Today is our 10th anniversary, I turn 40 and my son turns 16.”
Ashley and Evan have found different ways to keep their romance “fresh” over the years.
The singer, who also shares children Jagger, 8, and Ziggy, 3, with her husband, said: “We always celebrate and have the best time, but I don't think it has to be just on the day. It's important to find those moments.” She and her husband are very good at it.
“If you don't have a little time, [he’ll] Take me to a hotel, [if] We were at Kidsland and he surprised me with some nice moments just the two of us, which makes me happy. ”
