Look to the future.
Ray-Ban and Meta have teamed up to introduce artificial intelligence sunglasses that can scan the world around people walking down the street, as well as many other features.
Launched last fall, the shades, which come in a variety of colors and cost between $300 and $500, were just named a high-tech AI gadget worth buying by the Wall Street Journal.
“Meta's AI tools are not only fun and reliable, but the cameras built into the glasses make it easy to take photos and videos while playing with your kids,” said technology columnist Joanna Stern. I am writing.
Other features of the glasses linked to your smartphone include the ability to make phone calls, listen to music, and live stream.
The back of the glasses is equipped with a small but powerful speaker that allows you to listen to and interact with your artificial intelligence assistant. The glasses also come with a charging case.
For stunning visuals, Stern tested out sunglasses and a subtle camera on the tip of the glasses at a pet adoption center in New York City. She noted that she was able to tell the breeds of the dogs apart.
“When I looked at my adorable puppy and asked her what I should feed her, my meta-assistant replied, “Great Dane puppies are high in protein and moderate in fat. You need a high quality large breed puppy food that has the right vitamins and minerals.
Stern also compared Meta Ray-Ban to two other notable virtual assistant technologies on the market.
One is the Rabbit R1, a $200 AI device that looks like a combination of a Palm Pilot and an iPod, and the other is the $700 Humane AI Pin, which can be attached to clothing as a personal assistant with a camera.
Mr. Stern supported both glasses, saying they “also provided answers that were appropriate to the situation.”
“When I asked Rabbit to play Taylor Swift's latest album, he immediately played a song from 18 years ago! Plus, it took so long to get a response from Humane and Rabbit that I put music on hold. You need to ring.”
