Redwood Lux Collective will perform “Swingin' Under the Stars” at Redwood Lux World Dance Studio, 824 L Street, Arcata, on Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m.
Music will be provided by CR Big Band. The evening also includes dance lessons and demonstrations, complimentary snacks, sodas and wine for purchase, and door prizes. Admission is $10.
There will also be a “Donation Depot'' where gently used clothing, shoes, and jewelry will be collected. Donation Depot proceeds go to Redwood Raks' scholarship fund, which supports programs such as summer dance camp. marsh tour
Friends of the Arcata Marsh will sponsor a free 90-minute tour of the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Refuge on Saturday.
Meet leader Barbara Reisman in the lobby of the Interpretive Center on South G Street at 2 p.m. This event will be held rain or shine.

'Quilting at the Grange' will be held on Saturday from 9am to 5pm at Freshwater Grange, 49 Grange Road, Freshwater.
The cost is $15 for the general public and $5 for group members. Dream Quest Drama Club will be presenting the short play The Wizard of Oz, written by Eddie McPherson, on stage at Kimtu Cookhouse, 151 Kimtu Road, Willow Creek, on Saturdays at 6pm and Sundays at 1pm. /Deleted Scene” will be performed.

The Swedish Pancake Breakfast will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday at Moose Lodge, 4328 Campton Road, Eureka. Cost is $10.
garden work day
McKinleyville Botanical Garden opening hours are set for Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hiller Park. (To get there, take Hiller Road west to the Hammond Trail/soccer field/dog park parking lot. The gardens are adjacent to the children's play area.)
Volunteers are needed to help restore this small, community-driven botanical garden featuring pollinator- and bird-friendly plants. No experience required. Volunteers can learn about native plants and take home cuttings. Once volunteers learn the ropes, they can work on the days of their choosing.
Volunteer days are held on the third Sunday of each month from 2-4 p.m. Held on the second Sunday of the month, except at the same time in June.
dance party
The dance, featuring live music and a “great floor,” will be held Monday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 4328 Campton Road in Eureka. Admission is $9.
rutabaga mixer
The Rutabaga Mixer will be held on May 23 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Fatzi Klein's Parlor Lounge at 2nd and C Streets in Eureka.
