A passionate educator and farmer, Bailey Farrar welcomes all parents interested in exploring new educational opportunities for their children. Founder of Back to the Basics Academy, Bailey combines her expertise in animal science and agricultural education with her dedication to promoting hands-on learning experiences.
Bailey's journey began at Berry College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in animal science. He then obtained a Master's degree in Intermediate Science and Agricultural Education, honing his skills and knowledge in both his academic and practical fields. For the past eight years, Ms. Bailey has been a science and intermediate agriculture teacher in public schools.
Bailey, who lives in the Gore community in Chattooga County with her two children, Oaklyn and Colt, understands the importance of a holistic education that goes beyond the boundaries of the traditional classroom. She took inspiration from her children and founded Back to the Basics Academy. There, she allows children to immerse themselves in hands-on learning experiences while building essential life skills.
Back to the Basics Academy provides a unique alternative to traditional schooling where academic learning and practical life skills seamlessly blend. Through a curriculum that focuses on activities such as cooking, money management, gardening, animal care, and teamwork, children gain valuable knowledge that goes far beyond textbooks.
One of Back to the Basics Academy's key features is its four-day-a-week program, which provides ample time for children to deeply engage with their surroundings and learning experiences. At Bailee, we emphasize the principle of “learning by doing” to ensure that all children have the opportunity to explore, experiment, and grow in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Back to the Basics Academy offers an attractive solution for parents who have considered homeschooling but have faced obstacles. By joining the Academy, children can benefit from a diverse range of educational experiences while enjoying the freedom and flexibility of a farm-based learning environment.
