When you're not in the mood for a burger for lunch, you might find yourself craving some delicious fried chicken or chicken tenders. I confess that I am a big fan of chicken tenders. There are plenty of chain restaurants (and even some gas stations!) that serve delicious tenders like Zaxby's (although I usually order them on top of a salad!) and Guthrie's. I also like the ones at Wendy's.
So when lunch time came I suggested we try the slim chicken. I've eaten there many times and I like their tenders. Now, in the first few paragraphs, I'm only talking about the chicken tenders I order, so you're probably wondering what else I'd order. chicken tenders. Well, ha! I was fooled! None of us ordered chicken tenders! Why did you do that? That's because Slim Chickens has been around in Southaven for a while now, so most people have probably already been there and tried their chicken tenders. So I asked the Bat Family to order another menu item that our readers may have never had before and might want to try.
White Rabbit, the newest member of the Bat family, decided to take the healthy route and give Slim's Chicken Wrap Meal ($10.69) a try. For wraps, choose grilled or fried tenders topped with tomato and ranch in a spinach wrap. She immediately destroyed its health value by grilling the wrap and then eating it as a meal with fries. This supervillain thought the grilled tenders were nice and plump and I loved that they came in a spinach wrap. “The chicken was very tender,'' said the White Rabbit. “It's a healthy option as long as you don't eat fries with it, which I did. But Slim has another side to choose from.” White Rabbit had one suggestion. She thought the lettuce needed to be cut into smaller pieces because it fell off easily when chewed. “The lettuce was crunchy and delicious,” she said. “But when you eat a wrap, everything comes out.”
She gave the wrap 4 pow and would definitely order it again.
When it comes to chicken, we know what Livewire will order. If the word “buffalo” is on the menu, she'll get it. She is definitely the in-house expert on buffalo flavors. Livewire decided to try Slim's Buffalo Mac & Cheese Bowl Meal ($9.99). This dish is a three-cheese blend of macaroni and cheese, topped with fried chicken tenders, fried onions, a sprinkle of green onions, shredded cheese, drizzled with hot buffalo sauce and cayenne ranch sauce, and served on a piece of toast. and a drink. . After taking a bite or two, the villain described it as “creamy goodness.” “Hot sauce goes really well with chicken and macaroni,” she said. She said, “The buffalo sauce was better, but the cayenne ranch was also good.'' Similar to the White Rabbit, she thought the Live Wire was tender and delicious with plenty of chicken on it. She also liked the toast, which “soaks up the excess sauce.” Overall, Livewire was pleased with the buffalo flavor and hopes Slim's keeps buffalo on the menu. “We used to only offer this during certain hours,” she said. “But now it seems like it's always on the menu.” She gives the Slim Chicken Buffalo Mac and Cheese Bowl a solid four-powder. “It was really good,” she said.
I've eaten at Slim Chicken many times. I usually order Chick's Meal (3 tenders) or Slim's Meal (5 tenders). I really like their tenders and love the sauce! However, as I said earlier, many people will have received a bid before, so it doesn't make much sense to review it. Looking at the menu, the Memphis Style BBQ Sandwich Meal looked very delicious. We thought we could get the best of both worlds: a delicious chicken sandwich and a taste of Memphis BBQ. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. And I'm really sorry about that.
The sandwich was supposed to be fried chicken breast, drizzled with tangy barbecue sauce, and topped with coleslaw on a brioche bun. Well, there was nothing “Memphis” or “barbecue” about the chicken sandwich. A photo on the webpage shows chicken breast with a reddish tint of what appears to be barbecue sauce. What I got instead was plain fried chicken breast topped with coleslaw on a brioche bun. The bun was nice and a good size fried chicken breast, but the taste was similar to what you get at Chic-fil-A or Wendy's. Either the person who made the sandwich accidentally forgot “Memphis” and “BBQ” or they've never set foot in Memphis and have no idea what Memphis BBQ is. On the plus side, the fries were delicious and great value. But hey, guys, do you call that “Memphis-style barbecue”? I call it a chicken sandwich topped with coleslaw. Maybe there was a hole in the bag I used to put the BBQ sauce in and shake it.
I'm not going to give a POW rating because I like slim chicken and don't want to prevent you from trying these menu items. Slim Chickens is always a he four captive experience. Maybe we can do the Memphis Style BBQ sandwich again. Trust me, it looked nothing like the photo and definitely didn't taste like Memphis Style BBQ. That's why we offer 4 POWs for Slim Chicken considering taste and value. I'm not going to put up with their little sycophants at my command.
