Have you ever wanted to act but put it off as an impossible dream? Now, it's your time to shine. The Tehachapi Community Theater Association is holding open auditions for the classic murder mystery play “Deathtrap,” written by Ira Levin. Director Kenny Chugg is reaching out to TCTA members and the community to encourage local actors to audition for one of his five roles in the sinister, multifaceted role.
In this comedy-thriller, a washed-up playwright finds a script he's willing to kill for. Sidney Brühl, who hasn't written a hit novel in 18 years, receives a promising manuscript from his former student Clifford Anderson. His wife Myra suggests that the two work together. Sidney jokes that it would be easy to murder the young man and steal his script. When Clifford arrived later that night, not even his psychic neighbors could predict what the night's dark events would turn out to be.
“Deathtrap'' is a sharp and entertaining play full of twists and turns that will keep the audience on their toes. Chugg is looking for new talent to spice up the BeeKay Theater stage. Come join us, have fun, gain experience and discover that you, too, can wow your audience.
