Kris Jenner has become the latest celebrity friend to be gifted a limited edition jar of Meghan Markle's new American Riviera Orchard Strawberry Jam as she continues to soft launch her lifestyle brand.
The Kardashian mother and reality TV star shared a photo of a pot of oranges sitting in a bowl alongside a handwritten letter, presumably from Meghan, who previously worked as a calligrapher.
Unlike other friends of the duchess, including her Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, Jenner didn't do any elaborate photo shoots with the products, just a yellow love heart emoji. “Thank you American Riviera Orchard,” he simply wrote.
The basket means Kim Kardashian's mother is one of 50 lucky celebrities and influencers chosen to be part of Meghan's elite Montecito friendship group.
Jenner's bottle was labeled with the number 13. The pair were previously photographed attending the 5th anniversary celebration of This Is About Huamnity in Los Angeles with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland.
Over the past week, friends of the California-based royal family have been showing off the brand's first products on social media ahead of their general release.
Adding her own personal touch to the PR hamper, Meghan wrote a note in calligraphy to each of her friends. Duchess Kate previously taught this skill in an attempt to land an acting job in 2004-2005.
Netflix actress Mindy Kaling, 44, who has appeared on “The American Office'' and “The Mindy Show,'' was one of the first to reveal that Meghan had given her the product for the first time.
Mindy and Meghan have been friends since Meghan appeared on the first episode of her now-canceled Spotify podcast Archetype 18 months ago.
The award-winning comedian posted a snap of a jar of strawberry jam inside a bowl of ripe, juicy lemons, revealing he had received the product last week.
Tagging Meghan Markle's brand American Riviera Orchard, she simply said she was “obsessed” with it.
Spencer was gifted the sixth bottle of Meghan Markle's badge, which he revealed two days ago in an exaggerated photo shoot that showed her lying on the grass holding the precious storage bottle.
A jar of jam was placed in a bowl of lemons surrounded by flowers and smiling with a dog in a sunny garden. “This jam is my jam,” she told her followers. “Such a delicious taste of what's to come…I love you, M.”
Also on the launch list are parenting campaigner Kelly Mackie Zadifen, Meghan's colleague Polo Wife Delfina Blaquier and fashion designer Tracy Robbins.
However, there were also some people who were missing from the list. The Duchess' former best friend Jessica Mulroney, many of her Suits co-stars and former friends of the Beckhams were apparently not on the gift list.
Yesterday, the PR guru told MailOnline that Meghan's friendships are being updated and evolving to keep up with her new business venture, and that the gang therefore has other people and businesses based in the California enclave. She said that this includes women who are involved in the field.
Culture expert Nick Ehde told MailOnline: “Like all friendships and circles, they change all the time.
“It appears that the old guard of Meghan's celebrity friends from her pre-Megxit days has been left out of this PR campaign, and a new team is in place to support women living and working in the Montecito area and surrounding areas. Everyone can see it inside and out.”
“This is all about homegrown produce and a sense of community, so it made sense for her and the brand to have a local team supporting her.
“With the success of Suits on Netflix and its acquisition by the BBC, we enlisted all of our old co-stars and wedding guests to help us launch the brand, which helped grow the brand and create demand. I think she missed the trick by not letting her do it.'
Meanwhile, public relations expert Mark Borkowski said Meghan's latest friendship proves she still has a “deep influence”, but that Meghan is a new “story”. He added that he has begun to “carefully choose” friends who match his personality.
A spokesperson said: “Meghan's circle proves that she has and continues to have a huge influence.” The lineup of names surrounding her in this effort certainly speaks volumes about her evolving inner circle.
“Mindy Kaling and Tracee Ellis Ross, it's clear she's bringing together a circle of influencers and creators, marking a move into more culturally resonant territory.
“In terms of people who were left out in the cold, it's a strange mix of former confidants and acquaintances who probably didn't fit well into the new narrative. This was a strategic move, and definitely demonstrated a flair for innovation and will remain in the news cycle.”
