The “Where Were You in ’92?” Community Breakfast will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Humboldt Grange No. 501, 5845 Humboldt Hill Road, Eureka.

The Redwood Area Audubon Society will host free guided field trips at the Arcata Wetland Wildlife Refuge from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
Bring your binoculars and meet trip leader Michael Morris at the end of South I Street (Crop Lake) in Arcata to enjoy the easy trail. At this time, many resident birds may be singing, building nests, and showing signs of breeding activity. There will probably be plenty of shorebirds as well.
wetland working day
The Redwood Area Audubon Society will hold a “Wiggi Swamp Volunteer Day” from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
Volunteers are needed to create native bird-friendly habitat, remove invasive plants and trash, and restore portions of the bay path. The trail section will be located behind Bayshore Mall, and volunteers will meet in the parking lot directly behind Walmart. The Audubon Society will provide tools, gloves and packaged snacks. Bird watching walk
The Redwood Area Audubon Society will host a South Humboldt Birdwatching Walk on Saturday.
This walk includes 2-3 miles of gentle walking through riverbanks, meadows and mixed hardwood forest.
Everyone will meet in the Toobee Park parking lot on Sproul Creek Road, one mile west of Garberville. This trip takes place on the fourth Saturday of each month, typically starting around 8:30 a.m., and the leader varies from month to month. Friends of the Arcata Marsh will sponsor free tours of the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Refuge on Saturday.
For this 90-minute event, rain or shine, everyone will meet leader Paul Johnson in the lobby of the Interpretive Center on South G Street at 2 p.m.
After discussing how the unique sewage treatment plant works, Johnson focused on the lesser-known small creatures that live along the trail, such as galls, caterpillars, and bugs that many people overlook on their walks. guess. For more information, call 707-826-2359.
pancake breakfast
The Trinidad Lions Club will be hosting a pancake breakfast at Trinidad School on Sunday from 8am to 11am.
The menu includes pancakes, sausage or ham and eggs, or biscuits and gravy and eggs, and a drink. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children.
There will also be a book sale, with prices ranging from 25 cents to $1. Proceeds will be donated to youth, school and community projects.
Book release
On May 2nd at 7pm, the Arcata Library will host a party to celebrate the publication of “The Basket Rattle'' by new author Sean Powers.
All are invited to celebrate shadow puppeteer Sean Powers' memoir in storytelling. This memoir depicts his 40-year exploration of 100 different musical instruments, their native culture, and his associated life experiences. Arcata Library is located at 500 Seventh St. This program is free and sponsored by Friends of Arcata Library.

The Redwood Empire Quilters Guild will hold its annual “Basket Auction” on May 2nd at Humboldt Grange No. 501, 5845 Humboldt Hill Road in Eureka.

mother's day event
A special Mother's Day event is scheduled for May 12th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the historic Bayside Grange.
Pineapple Express offers a variety of Hawaiian dishes. There is also a cash bar serving special cocktails. Musical guests include the Ponies of Harmony, Path of Totality and DJ Goldilocks.
Local businesses are also sponsoring raffles to support the nonprofit Humboldt Literacy Project. Prizes include gift certificates, gift baskets, and more.
Meals can be ordered from the kitchen for a fee. Admission to this event is free, although there is a charge for the bar and raffle tickets.
