Just days after the soft launch of her first product, a cryptic message has appeared on the page of Meghan Markle's new lifestyle brand.
Prince Harry makes major changes to his living situation
The US main page appears as normal, but the UK domain name of American Riviera Orchard is being used by someone linked to the Trussell Trust charity. Strangely, at the top of the call for donations is a message of support for the Princess of Wales.
When users click on the main homepage, they are taken to a fundraising site that says, “Not Meghan.” I hope Meghan doesn't mind. Thoughts with Catherine. X”.
Duchess Kate is currently undergoing cancer treatment and is on an indefinite leave of absence from royal duties.
It then explains the purpose of the Trust, a network of food banks across the UK, providing emergency food and support to people in poverty.
As of Friday, more than 9,000 pounds ($17,000) had been raised, far exceeding the goal of 1,000 pounds ($1,940).
The charity admitted it did not set up the page and had no prior knowledge of its existence.
Meghan first announced her new project last month in a cryptic teaser video posted to American Riviera Orchard's Instagram account, showing glimpses of her cooking and arranging flowers.
Sources at the time said it would focus on home, garden, food and general lifestyle products.
Earlier this week, the Duchess of Sussex soft-launched her first product, Fresh Strawberry Jam, with close friends sharing a photo on Instagram of the gorgeous packaging, complete with a hand-painted label and a basket of lemons.
