EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Enfaly Dante had 19 points and 12 rebounds and Oregon State defeated Utah State 66-65 on Saturday night.
Gabe Madsen's 3-pointer with 3:49 left put Utah ahead 66-63, and Davon Smith's two free throws with 38 seconds left opened the scoring. On the Ducks' next possession, Jermaine Quinard missed a layup, but Ben Carlson missed a 3-pointer and the Utes ended the game.
Quinard had 14 points and Jackson Shelstad had 12 points for Oregon State (20-11, 12-8 Pac-12), which missed its final five shots.
Dante's dunk gave Oregon a 54-53 advantage, and Dante's second one extended the lead to 65-59 with 4:50 left.
Branden Carlson led Utah State (18-13, 9-11) with 19 points. Smith added 15 points and Madsen finished with 14 points. Branden Carlson and Madsen combined to make seven of the Utes' 10 3-pointers. The Utes shot 50 percent in the first half but just 32 percent in the second half.
Branden Carlson scored 17 points to help Utah build a 37-32 halftime lead. Kjerstad scored 10 points in the first half for the Ducks.
Oregon State avenged its 80-77 loss to Utah State, ending a two-game losing streak.
Utah State will play the first round of the Pac-12 Conference Tournament on Wednesday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Oregon State, which had already earned the No. 4 seed into the tournament, will play Thursday in the quarterfinals.
