Endaya posed Monday at the green-and-white carpeted entrance to the annual extravaganza Met Gala in a blue dress decorated with bunches of grapes. This year's theme is gardens.
The stars were asked to wear Garden of Time outfits for the invite-only event, which is known for its A-list celebrities and extravagant costumes.
Film and TV star Zendaya, who hosted this year's event, sported thick eyeliner and wore a bias-cut dark blue lamé and organza dress over a duchess satin corset. The dress, designed by John Galliano, has clusters of grapes at the waist and arms, a large ruffle on one side, and a blue hummingbird on the shoulder.
Jennifer Lopez, another host, wore a see-through Schiaparelli dress with beading. Thor actor Chris Hemsworth and musician Bad Bunny were also chosen to host the night.
The high-profile Met Gala is a benefit event of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and marks the opening of the Costume Institute's annual fashion exhibition.
This year's exhibit, titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” will feature rare items from the Costume Institute's permanent collection, some of which will be shown only through animation and projection. This includes some very fragile designs.
Chinese-owned TikTok, which faces a U.S. ban unless its owners sell the social media app to allay security concerns, was also one of the event's sponsors. TikTok CEO Shou Chew was named honorary co-chair of the gala and was expected to interact with guests at the event.
