Tracee Ellis Ross paid a glowing tribute to Diana Ross on her birthday.
The 51-year-old actress took to social media to praise her mother, who turned 80 on Tuesday (March 26, 2019).
Along with a series of throwback photos, the “Black-ish” star wrote on Instagram: “Fun facts about my life: I Google details about my life that I forget or don't realize. You can ask…I found this surprising…You know, from 1976 to 1985 (Rhonda was born in '71, I was born in '72, and Chudney was born in '75), Mom's @dianaross released one album a year, toured multiple times, produced and starred in various TV specials, filmed Mahogany, and The Wiz drew an estimated 800,000 attendees. (When the first night of the show was rained out, she decided to pay for it and do it again the next night), left Motown, and performed the entire floor. Did he buy the famous Fifth Avenue building, buy real estate and office buildings in suburban New York, where he manufactured Diana Ross's pantyhose and other merchandise and other big moments from her personal life?
“This was at a time when women couldn't apply for credit, couldn't serve on juries, didn't have contraception, but could be fired for being pregnant. (Shocking) (sic)”
Tracy also praised Diana for her career and for being “all about motherhood.”
“Amid breaking records, breaking glass ceilings, and setting new standards for style and glamour, we, her children, were always her top priority. As I often say, Be Loved World icon Diana Ross is legendary, but she wouldn't give her mom a candle.”
