Camila Cabello believes change is “an antidote to anxiety.”
The 27-year-old pop star dyed her hair blonde ahead of the release of her long-awaited new album, and Camila revealed the thought process behind her latest transformation.
The singer, who rose to stardom as a member of Fifth Harmony, told NYLON magazine:
“Even if I've been around for a long time, I want to feel like a new artist every time I release an album.”
Camila is set to release her fourth album later this year, and she teased details about what fans can expect from the album.
The “I LUV IT” hitmaker said, “This music feels like an unfiltered version of myself.”
Camila is also determined to continue evolving in the months and years ahead.
“Constant change is the solution. It's the key to peace and the medicine for anxiety,” the pop star said.
In March, Camila claimed she needed to make a “physical change” before releasing a new album.
The chart-topping star said on the Call Her Daddy podcast:
“I don't know, but I feel like my black hair has been with me all my life. It's been an important part of how the world sees me, how the world sees me, and how I see myself. I feel like it wasn’t too much.”
Camila suggested that her new style represents a new era in her life and music career.
She explained: “I feel like this year's theme was 'play' and 'transformation', as well as change and courage.
“But I feel like the music and the world are changing so much, so for a variety of reasons, I was like, 'I feel like that requires a physical change as well.'
