Stockman selected for Forbes list of best banks
Stockmann Bank has been named to Forbes' list of the World's Best Banks for 2024, marking the third year in a row that it has been named to Forbes.

He said this reflects the trust customers have in banks to meet their financial needs.

Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey more than 49,000 people in 33 countries about their views on current and past banking relationships.

Employer of Choice winners announced
The Helena Job Services Employer Committee announced Silverman Law Firm, Pioneer Aerostructures, and Mountain Pacific Quality Health as the 2023 Employer of the Year award winners.
“The Helena Job Service Employer Council (JSEC) annually sponsors awards that recognize outstanding businesses in our community that create great workplaces,” Job Service said in an email. “The quality of life in our community is directly impacted by the jobs and work environment created by local businesses.”
Winners of these employee-nominated awards receive bragging rights, commemorative plaques and window stickers. He will also be featured on a digital billboard at the intersection of Montana His Avenue and Cedar Street in Helena for one month.
TDS is hiring interns in the Helena area
This summer, TDS Telecommunications will expand its annual Field Service Technician Internship Program to 17 communities across the country, including Helena.
For more than three years, the FST Internship Program has served as a resource for rising professionals to gain real-world industry experience working with cutting-edge technology in the telecommunications industry.
The FST program offers paid internship positions to local students and developing professionals interested in future careers in the telecommunications industry.
Interns are matched with mentors to maximize their learning experience and professional development. During their internship, they will assist with on-site installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of telecommunications products, services and equipment provided to residential and commercial customers.
Field Service Interns work 15-30 hours per week and offer a competitive base salary of $15 per hour and health benefits.
Additionally, as members of the TDS community, interns have access to the Intern Associate Resource Group, which provides support and opportunities for development and advancement.

Quint joins Great West Engineering
Great West Engineering announced the hiring of Kassandra Quint as a grants administrator/compliance specialist in its Billings office.
Quint has two years of experience in grants management and an additional five years of experience in accounting and finance.

State-sponsored conference for people with disabilities
The Department of Public Health and Human Services will host a Disability Employment Conference May 14-16 at the University of Great Falls Heritage Hall.
“This conference will provide Montana businesses with information about the value of hiring people with disabilities and how to support behavioral health in today’s workforce.” said Chanda Hermanson, DPHHS Disability Employment and Transition Division Administrator.
Participants will learn about the value of employing people with disabilities, promoting mental health in the workplace, supporting employee wellness, integrating assistive technology, and using artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace.
Service animals and labor law changes are also among the topics discussed.
Mr. Hermanson oversees the Vocational Rehabilitation and Visually Impaired Services (VRBS) program. VRBS connects people with disabilities with employment opportunities and gives them the tools they need to succeed.
VRBS counselors work with businesses to find and retain qualified candidates, resolve accessibility and technology issues, provide consultation on issues such as transportation, and provide disability inclusion training to empower businesses. We provide.
Hermanson said VRBS is here to help businesses that employ or want to employ people with disabilities.
“We support businesses with a wide range of services, resources and solutions related to employment of people with disabilities.” Hermanson said. “We also provide businesses with free assistance in recruiting qualified candidates, retaining staff, improving accessibility, and accessing other resources that can save you time and money.”
There are approximately 79,000 Montanans between the ages of 18 and 64 with disabilities. This population is divided between the 35,000 Montanans with disabilities who are not in the labor force and the 41,000 who are in the labor force. The remaining 3,000 of her people are in the labor force but unemployed.

Mr. Clark attends Vietnam trade mission
Montana Department of Agriculture Secretary Christy Clark joined the All-U.S. Department of Agriculture Association on an “Emerging Markets” trade mission to Vietnam from April 5-13.
The visit was aimed at strengthening ties with Vietnam's agricultural trade partners as well as finding more trade opportunities for Montana's agricultural products.
Additionally, the delegation sought to deepen understanding of trade rules, regulations, and culture to strengthen the U.S.-Vietnam trade relationship.
Clark became Arkansas Secretary of Agriculture Wes Ward. Rick Pate, Alabama Secretary of Agriculture; Sherry Vinton, Nebraska Agriculture Commissioner; Derek Sandison, Washington State Agriculture Commissioner; Amanda Blondie, Global Cold Chain Alliance, and NASDA staff.
The delegation met with supermarket executives, various agricultural companies and seed groups, as well as toured Cai Ran Port as part of the partnership exploration.
Funding for this trade mission was provided by USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service Emerging Markets Program through NASDA.
The Emerging Markets Program helps U.S. organizations promote exports of U.S. agricultural products to countries that have market-oriented economies or that are developing and have the potential for viable commercial markets.
