When Percy convinces Hannah to hold a contest and hold a raffle, entries begin pouring in from all over the country. Through her determination, grit, and staying open to possibilities, Percy revitalizes the Grill and, in turn, the community.
The soaring score includes some unforgettable songs, including “Come Alive Again,” “Colors of Paradise,” “Ice & Snow,” “Wild Bird,” and “Shine.”
Spitfire Grill opened off-Broadway in 2001 and won the Richard Rodgers Award for Best New Musical. In this soul-stirring musical, a spirit of forgiveness and hope goes a long way toward pointing the way home.
The show will run through May 19 at Lamplighters Community Theater in La Mesa.
Director Amanda Blair Taboas will lead the show along with music director Robert Johnson and producer Pamela Stompoli.
The cast includes Kylie Agpaoa, Brooke Allison, Nicola Barrett, Robert Coe, Kat Fitzpatrick, Kanon Gowen, Erin Grace, Marcy Ledvinka, Mitch Krasin, Nicky Mars, Erica Rose, Comprised of Matt Thayer and Adina Silva.
The band consists of Nina Gilbert, Claire Hutter, Robert Johnson, Michael Reyes, and Sharon Taylor.
