Can you hear the drums, Fernando? Or can you hear the thoughts of the “ABBA Voyage” virtual concert production playing the strip?
we can. A source familiar with the production said the computer-generated show will be staged in a custom-built facility. Resorts World's former “Enchant” space is the leading candidate for the south section of the resort, but the site has not yet been finalized.
The plan is for the show to run as a limited effort and be extended if it gains momentum.
I hope the momentum catches up. This band sold 150 million records all over the world. That music became the centerpiece of “Mamma Mia,'' one of his few Broadway productions of his style to be performed in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay.
The show will feature ABBA's original lineup. Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Annie-Frid Ringstad In a CG-generated 1979 clone.
The real-life ABBA members are all in their 70s and have no plans to return to the stage for live performances. Nearly 25 years ago, they reportedly turned down $1 billion to headline 100 shows.
But for “ABBA Voyage,” they spent five weeks in motion capture suits creating the act's signature choreography.
The London show cost $175 million to develop, making it one of the most expensive live shows in history. A 10-piece orchestra will back Avatar His performers as they deliver hits such as “Dancing Queen,” “Waterloo,” the aforementioned “Fernando,” and ABBA's universal theme, “Thank You for the Music.”
“It's shocking,” said one source who said he had seen the show more than a dozen times in London.
