The Silver Spring Arts & Entertainment District is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy in its Advisory Group. Designated by the State of Maryland in 2001 and managed by Montgomery County government, the district is designed to develop, promote, and support diverse arts and cultural centers. This includes economic development, attracting tourism, maintaining a sense of community, and promoting revitalization.
Located in downtown Silver Spring, this district is the heart of the city that showcases the arts and entertainment community. It provides culture, recreation, and entertainment for both residents and visitors.
The 15-member advisory group includes representatives from various stakeholders within the district. These include artists and residents, as well as individuals working in arts organizations, venues, and entertainment anchors. The group will advise the Silver Spring Regional Center on supporting arts and entertainment organizations in Silver Spring.
