Shakira's new album focuses on “turning pain into resilience.”
The 47-year-old singer revealed the inspiration behind her recently released album “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.”
Shakira, who parted ways with soccer player Gerard Pique, who retired under harsh circumstances in 2022, told Extra, “This album is not only the embodiment of all the ups and downs, but also the transformation of the pain. I think it's a process of letting go, an alchemical process as well.'' I've learned resilience and strength, and I think my fans have been there as well and have continued to have a dialogue with me.
“It was really amazing because I felt like not only was I singing for them and they were listening, but they were also talking to me.”
In fact, Shakira has been able to connect with her fans through new music.
The award-winning star, who shares sons Milan, 11, and Sasha, nine, with Gerard, explained: “They were there for me in every song and this is the result.”
Meanwhile, Shakira previously revealed that her “dream” is to spend the rest of her life with Gerrard, 37.
The pop star admitted that she is having a hard time getting over her heartbreak.
Shakira, who moved from Barcelona to Miami after breaking up with the retired sports star, told Billboard: “My priority was home and my family. I believe in 'Til Death Do Us Part.' I believed in that dream, and I had it.” A dream for myself and for my children.
“My parents have been together for 50 years, and they love each other like the first day. That love is unique. So I knew it was possible. I am.”
“My mother won't leave me [sick] Father's side. They still kiss on the mouth. And that has always been my example. That's what I wanted for myself and my kids, but it didn't happen.
“When life gives you lemons, you have to make lemonade. That's what I'm doing. I'm making lemonade.”
