Robbie Williams quit Twitter because he was convinced it would “ruin” his career.
The 50-year-old pop star admitted that she left the social media platform, now known as X, after her cheeky jokes were poorly received and one particular gag about shoplifting sparked outrage.
Robbie told the Observer: “I'm not on Twitter. That would have ruined my career. The last time I was on Twitter, I said, 'I really like shoplifting. Do you have any good suggestions?'' he tweeted. Shoplifting?
“The guy who owns Gale's Bakery said, 'This is terrible. This is a pop star who lives in a bubble. That's just who he is.' When I saw that backlash, I thought, 'This is terrible. This is a pop star who lives in a bubble.' , “I don't think Twitter is for me.” I burned his finger. ”
Robbie went on to claim that he was worried about getting “cancelled” because of his joke. He added, “I'm Robbie Williams, so I'm in a box. I'm in a pop star box, and when that pop star starts acting different from what a pop star should be, it causes chaos.'' However, there is a possibility that it may be cancelled.”
However, Robbie is a big fan of Instagram and admits that she might be overdoing it.
He said, “I think I'm addicted to social media right now because I'm an addict…”
This comes after Robbie revealed in an Instagram post that she was worried she was “ugly” because people stopped questioning her sexuality.
The Angels hitmaker, who has four children with wife Ayda Field, said the “top search” for his name used to be people asking if he was gay, but now “no one is asking if he's gay”. I don't think he mentioned that.”
He wondered if it was because men were no longer attracted to him.
Robbie posted a self-portrait of himself covered in rainbow-colored stripes on Instagram, along with the words: “For a long time, the top internet search for me was 'Is Robbie Williams gay?'” It was attached. No one seems to mention it these days, so am I no longer gay? (sic)”
And in the caption, the 50-year-old star wrote: “When 'Robbie Williams gay' stopped being the top Google search, my real thought was: 'Am I ugly now?'” Admitted.
“In the first place, I never thought of myself as a spectator. (sic).”
