A driver has revealed how he saved thousands of dollars with a DIY driveway solution.
Homeowners said on TikTok that their driveway had become an eyesore, but thanks to a money-saving solution, their parking lot's curb appeal was upended.
TikToker Tiffany (@Beautyandabuilder) said in a September 2022 post, “My real estate agent told me my house wouldn't sell because the driveway was really bad and unattractive.”
Wanting to sell her home, Tiffany considered pouring concrete in the parking lot next to her home.
But concrete turned out to be “too expensive” for the home she wanted to sell.
She reported that it would cost between $5,000 and $8,000 to complete the paving.

Instead, Tiffany found a material nearly $5,000 cheaper than concrete's highest price.
“Someone recommended me crushed asphalt and it was a great alternative,” she said in the video.
“They actually did a really great job.”
She reported that the renovations cost $3,300.
The workers who built the driveway also sprayed the landscape with herbicide.
Tiffany said the additional work “really cleaned up the grounds.”
But new paving wasn't the deciding factor in ultimately selling the home.
Tiffany said the house was sold as renovations began.
“At least new buyers get nice new paving,” she says.

Dozens of drivers are sharing cost-saving driveway renovation tips on social media.
One driver posted several YouTube videos showing the changes to his driveway.
“We definitely have the longest and ugliest driveway in our neighborhood,” the YouTuber, blogger, and professional DIYer writes on her blog.
For $300, she implemented a three-step solution to our cracked and discolored driveway.
She also provided expert tips for difficult applications.
Drivers also spent just $30 at Lowe's to transform the appeal of their paved driveways.
However, drivers said it is important to undertake two preparatory projects before applying a driveway solution.
