Raven Symone's appearance on 'The View' was a 'learning experience'.
Raven, a 38-year-old actress, co-hosted the daytime show from 2015 to 2016, and although she has no intention of appearing on another TV talk show, she learned a lot from the experience.
She told Entertainment Tonight: “It was a learning experience.
“I learned a lot on that show. I learned a lot about what to say yes to and what not to say yes to. I learned how to bottle up my emotions as quickly as possible and learned that the hair and makeup on that show was amazing.
“I learned that I had an interesting perspective (just kidding). I also learned that some conversations are conversations at home on the couch, not on live TV.
“I learned that TV is TV, and sometimes you have to do things to make good TV. And I don't know if people know that. I’ll leave it as is.”
Despite this, Raven has no regrets about becoming the show's co-host.
“You have to try everything to find out who you are,” said the former child star who played Olivia Kendall on “The Cosby Show.”
“I think it's really important to do that for yourself, because growing up, your parents create a bubble of what they want you to be, and your friends mold you. You have a moment where you're like, “But what do I want?”
“The only way to figure it out is to try different things. That's what I do in this industry, I try as many things as I can.” [and] If you succeed, keep going. If not, thank you. Move on. ”
