Paris-based international film sales company Pulsar Content has entered into a strategic partnership with Digital District Entertainment, a leading post-production, VFX and production equipment company with offices in France, Belgium and India. The partnership will create “an efficient and cost-effective production process for international film projects,” according to a statement.
Pulsar Content's Cannes lineup includes Céline Salette's Un Certain Regard's Niki, Antoine Chebrolier's Block Pass, which premieres at Critics' Week, and Camila Bertrand, who premieres on Acid. “Mi Bestia'' is included.
DDE's Cannes lineup includes Julien Colonna's “Le Royaume” in the “Un Certain Regard” category and Patricia Mazui's “Visitinghours” in the Directors' Fortnight category.
The two companies have previously collaborated on several films, including The Deep House, directed by Julien Morley and Alexandre Bustillo, which was sold to Blumhouse in the U.S. and Universal internationally. DDE's recent acquisition of Victorine Studios, a film studio with a rich tradition in Nice, France, brings further benefits. Victorine Studios has shown many iconic films, including François Truffaut's Day for Night, Marcel Carné's Children of Paradise, and Jacques Tati's My Uncle.
According to a statement, Pulsar Content's extensive experience in international co-production, combined with DDE's production capabilities, including studio, post-production and VFX, will help bring ambitious film projects “from script to screen. “Seamless and cost-effective solutions”.
The partnership is powered by France's tax rebate program for international productions, which provides financial incentives for productions that spend at least 10% of their budgets in France.
