On March 20, 2024, after an extensive review process, the Board of Directors of PENN Entertainment (NASDAQ: PENN) (the “Board”) increased the size of the Board from nine to 10 members and subsequently appointed Mr. Anuj Dhanda. was elected as the next director. Vacancies are subject to customary regulatory approval and licensing requirements. Mr. Dhanda has been elected as a Class I director and intends to run for office at the 2024 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.
Mr. Dhanda currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Transformation Officer for Albertsons, a Fortune 100 Idaho-based grocery store chain with stores throughout the United States. In his current role, Mr. Dhanda is responsible for IT architecture, application platforms, supply chain modernization, data analytics, infrastructure, and information security. Mr. Dhanda's experience includes integrating his Albertsons and Safeway technology systems in connection with the 2015 merger of the two companies, as well as overseeing his recent migration of Albertsons to the cloud. Prior to joining Albertsons, Mr. Dhanda worked at Giant, a leading Midwest retailer, where he served as Senior Vice President of Commerce and Chief Information Officer at Eagle, where he led the technology apps, architecture and infrastructure aspects. I was in charge of management. Additionally, Mr. Dhanda held the role of Chief Information Officer at his PNC Financial Services, which he held for nearly 15 years. Mr. Dhanda has been active in numerous professional and philanthropic endeavors, including serving on his CIO Council at Greylock. Member of Oracle's President's Council. Former Chairman of the Board of the Mattress Factory Museum. Director of the Carnegie Museum of Art. He is also a board member of the United Way of Allegheny County. Mr. Dhanda has been recognized by the CIO100 and in 2019 he was named an honoree of the CIO Hall of Fame. He earned both his MBA and Ph.D. He received his PhD in Finance from Rutgers University.
