Oliver Hudson cheated on his wife before they were married.
The 47-year-old actor was engaged to Erin Bartlett in 2004 and they share children Wilder, 16, Bodhi, 13, and Rio, 10, but she doesn't believe he has any children. I didn't know that, but I “fell into a vicious cycle.” Because he had been unfaithful to her, he forced himself to confess to her before they got married in 2006.
He said this on his and his sister Kate Hudson's podcast, Sibling Revelry. “When I got engaged, something happened to me mentally and I went into a vicious cycle where I became unfaithful, cheated and went crazy.
“I was never caught. I told her everything, because I couldn't live with myself and get married and have children.”
The 'Splitting Up Together' star said he had to go through something “mentally” and called his wife of 51 years a “wonderful woman” who is by his side, understands his actions and is supportive. He praised it.
Furthermore, he added: “And my mom played a big part in that, too. It's important to look at the whole relationship holistically, not just the actions. It may seem extreme, but let's dig a little deeper into why.” And to look at the whole person, not this one suffering.
“I was going through whatever I was going through, and we were able to kind of go through therapy and do it all and get through it.”
Although Oliver believes he is a “good person” and “no malice,” he has no “regrets” because his actions shaped him into the person he is today.
he said: “Honestly, I don't know what kind of person I would have been if that hadn't happened. So, do I regret it? No, I don't think so. I regret the pain I caused. .I don't want to cause pain to anyone. ”
However, the “Cleaning Lady” actor admitted that he made some “terrible choices.”
He said, “Regret is an interesting word. I don't know if I have a lot of regrets. Even if I don't regret it, it's because I made the choice, whether it was a positive choice or a negative choice.'' That's because it's a thing.”
“I have made some very terrible choices in my life.
“You might think I regret doing that, but I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't made that choice.”
