To highlight the growing ties between France and Taiwan in the film and television fields, French and Taiwanese producers CineFrance, Aleph Wang and Yuson Entertainment have announced two new series co-produced at Seriesmania.
Co-produced by Paris-based CineFrance and Taipei-based Yuson Entertainment, “Fly” is a spy drama series based on an original IP by Taiwanese author Zhang Guoli and will be shot in France and Taiwan.
Parisian production company Aleph One is also heading to Taiwan with Flight MH370, which is based on the true story of the Malaysian Airlines disappearance. Gilles Vanier, best known for the recent acclaimed BBC series Blue Lights, will direct the series, which is supported by the state-backed Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA). Alef One is currently in discussions with potential co-production partners in Taiwan.
Last year, TAICCA and CNC, the French National Cinema Center, signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at promoting cooperation in the cultural content industry and strengthening cooperation and exchanges in the field of film and television.
TAICCA President Om Tsai and CNC President Dominique Boutonat, who attended the Series Mania presentation, praised the growing cooperation between the two organizations and the new French-Taiwanese co-production.
CNC also highlighted the upcoming 2024 TCCF Creative Content Conference. The conference will see a high-level French delegation visit Taiwan to strengthen cooperation between European and Asian film and television experts.
