Megan Thee Stallion's former cameraman has sued the rapper, accusing him of harassment and creating a hostile work environment, including fat shaming the rapper and assaulting another person in the same moving car. He is also suspected of having sex with a passenger.
In a complaint filed Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Emilio Garcia alleges that the hip-hop star, real name Megan Peet, as well as Megan Thee Stallion Entertainment Inc., Hot Girl Touring Inc. and Roc Nation Inc. stated that he had committed the following violations: He is in compliance with six labor laws and says he has not been properly compensated for his work.
According to a complaint reviewed by EW, when Garcia was hired in July 2018, he was mistakenly classified as an independent contractor and was denied protections under California law, including medical expenses and overtime pay exceeding six figures. claims that there was not. When Roc Nation changed its compensation structure to a pay-by-task system in August 2022, Garcia insisted that his time expectations and demands remained the same, even though his pay was significantly lower. He also claimed that he forbade musicians from working with other clients.
Garcia also claimed that while on tour in Ibiza, Spain in June 2022, he was riding in an SUV with three other women during a night out when Megan and one of the women “stood right next to me.” He claimed that they started having sex. “I couldn't do it,” Garcia insisted. “The vehicle was moving and he was in a remote location in a foreign country, so please get out of the vehicle,” the complaint says, adding that the man remained “confused, mortified, and angry throughout the ordeal.” It is said that The complaint does not say whether Megan knew Garcia was in the same car at the time.
“This is a paid employment claim. There is no allegation of sexual harassment, but it also involves salacious accusations aimed at shaming her,” Megan's attorney, Alex Spiro, said in a statement obtained by EW. We will address this matter in court.”
Garcia also accused Stallion of fat-shaming her, calling her a “fat bitch” and telling her to “spit out your food” and “you don't have to eat it.”
He was ultimately fired in June 2023 by Megan's management company, Roc Nation, founded by rapper Jay-Z, in retaliation for complaining about alleged labor and wage violations. That's what he thinks.
Representatives for Roc Nation did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment.
“Megan simply needs to pay what her client is owed, own up to her actions, and stop this type of sexual harassment and fat-shaming,” Garcia's attorney Ron Zambrano said in a statement obtained by EW. “You should never do that.” Putting her in the position of having to ride in a car with another woman while she had sex with another woman is a casual exposure of this behavior to her employees. ”
