Anthony Mackie is one of the longest-running actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, joining the vast superhero franchise as Sam Wilson in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier and starring in The Avengers. He continues to play Chris Evans' faithful sidekick throughout “Endgame''. He remains a regular at Marvel as the series attempts to reinvent itself after 2019's climactic film, starring in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World. He inspired himself to earn the title of Captain America by starring in the film. 'But the actor's brand loyalty didn't prevent him from recognizing the creative limitations that come with his work in the MCU.
In a recent interview with Radio Times, Mackie explained that certain Marvel storylines are effectively predetermined by the vast amount of comic book source material.

McKee went on to contrast working on the Marvel project with other endeavors like the Peacock series “Twisted Metal,” saying that the latter project had less creative flexibility because the intellectual property had not yet been established. He explained that the sex was higher.
“That's the difficult thing about the Marvel Universe. It's like you can't step outside of the comics,” he said. “You know, when we introduced Falcon, and when we introduced Falcon's growth to Captain America, all of that had to align with what Stan had already given us. So , it's an interesting juggling act to be a part of that world. It was more like, 'Let's just have fun and think about it as we go.'”
