Today's News Digest: Hulu launches on Disney+. Sony Pictures Entertainment launches his FAST channel portfolio of 54. LinkedIn test video feed
Last week, Hulu on Disney+ launched in the US with the Disney Bundle subscription option. The merger brings together the extensive libraries of Hulu and Disney+. Both apps will remain as standalone products, but Disney+ subscribers will now see the Hulu experience within the app. The Disney+ logo has been changed to a deep turquoise color that combines the blue and green of each company's original logo.
Meanwhile, in Europe, Sony Pictures Entertainment plans to launch a portfolio of free ad-supported streaming (FAST) channels on LG Channels, Samsung TV Plus, and TiVo+. Launching in April, the regional channels will be carefully selected and planned for each region and will be broadcast primarily in each country's native language. With 54 channels, it has one of the largest portfolios of FAST channels.
On the social front, LinkedIn is testing a video feed within the app.Video feed is new[ビデオ]Appears at the bottom of the navigation bar below the tabs. This tab contains a vertical feed of short-form videos that you can swipe through, TikTok-style. Details regarding the algorithm used to determine the order of videos have not yet been shared. LinkedIn said the experiment will test new ways for users to discover relevant videos, which are one of the most desired formats for users to learn from experts and professionals.
