As you know, there was once a proper season Great for entertainment in the Wilmington area. But those days are long gone, as I was at Cape Fear Community College's Wilson Center last Monday night with about 1,500 other people to meet Grammy-winning country artist Jason Isbell. I realized that it had passed.
OK, that particular idea came to me before. However, the Monday night concert felt like a weekend and really stuck with me.
Witt: It's technically still February, but this weekend's entertainment feels like spring, fall, or even summer. It's home to a veritable variety of events, including big plays, big concerts, and big art openings.

Friday will be off to a slushy start with a good chance of showers. Conditions will start to improve from Saturday, with cool but mild temperatures and a bright and sunny Sunday ahead.

It's a great weekend for music in Wilmington. Dead Cool and Tracy Shedd will double-team Bargie Nights, Keb' Mo' will perform at the Wilson Center, and classical guitarist Hiroya Tsukamoto will perform an intimate concert at Live at Ted's.
UNCW finishes production of Neil Simon's comedy “Rumors,” and Opera House Theater Company brings a powerful cast to the Tullian Hall stage for an all-black production of Arthur Miller's “Death of a Salesman.” It's a good weekend for theater as well. . ”
And it's a good weekend for the visual arts, with Gallery Walks held every fourth Friday of the month and new exhibitions opening at the Cameron Art Museum.
