LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Follow Netflix to catch the new limited series “Ripley.” Starring Andrew Scott, Dakota Fanning, and Johnny Flynn, the series is based on “The Talented Mr. Ripley” and the story of a wealthy vagrant who befriends a hungry con man. Shot in black and white, the film features shadows and long pauses by the great actor. This is a really great series and has a lot of high points, so I'll give it an A.

Netflix also has the movie “Scoop”. Based on Prince Andrew's infamous Newsnight interview and friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. The film, starring Gillian Anderson and Billie Piper, is about the search for truth from the rich and powerful. It's a fun movie with comedic characters throughout, but you'd be surprised how much of it is true.
Next, we jump to Paramount+, where the final season of Star Trek: Discovery was released online. And since this is the final season, I spoke to producers Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise, two of the guys who helped revive the current Star Trek universe, about the Easter eggs and fun leads fans can expect from this final season. I had to ask.
Finally, the movie The Monkey Man, directed by first-time director Dev Patel, will be released in theaters. It's the story of a boy who loses everything and has to survive while dealing with past anger and PTSD. That is, until he takes revenge and releases his memories that weighed him down. As a review, this movie wants a lot, but it takes a quantum leap forward to achieve it. I want to be John Wick, but I'm just groping around and can't seem to make it happen. Therefore, I give it a grade of C. It might be best to wait until this movie is available to stream. Maybe I'll go see Godzilla vs. Kong instead.
