Eddie Vedder believes Pearl Jam has “one or two” good records left.
The 'Alive' rockers are set to release their 12th studio LP 'Dark Matter' next month, but the 59-year-old singer's desire to continue pursuing her 'passion' has only grown stronger with each passing year. Especially because I am grateful that I still exist in this world. To enjoy opportunities that some of his colleagues do not enjoy.
He told MOJO magazine:
“The understanding that we don't have much time left is the biggest quotient. The goal is to keep making music.
“It's your passion and your special purpose.
“[At this stage] You still rely on relationships with the people around you. It really touches your heart when you find yourself in the same situation as that person. And you're sad that they're not.
“But it makes you realize you have to be healthy. You want to be around your kids. You want to make a good record.
“And there might be one or two left.”
Many of the group's musician friends have passed away over the years, including Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley of Alice in Chains, Van Connor of Screaming Trees, and Mark Lanegan, and Eddie has become a member of People's Lifestyle. He claimed that he did not know who would die. “The last man standing.”
Referring to Mick Rock's famous 1972 photo, he said: “Remember that photo of David Bowie, Iggy Pop, and Lou Reed? Who do you think was the last one standing? I wouldn't have bet on Iggy Pop. So, you You never know.”
And Eddie always felt “a sense of security” within the “brotherhood” of his band.
he said: “It's a brotherhood. There was never any doubt about that.
“There may have been some speed bumps on the road.
“But we got through them by looking out for each other. In that sense, we felt a sense of security.”
