May 4: Milwaukee Rep. Props and Costume Sale
If you're fascinated by the costumes and attire of Milwaukee Repertory Theater performers, you're in luck. The theater sells some of the props and costumes from past Milwaukee Repertory Theater performances. All items are handcrafted by the theater's props and costume department, and this event will give theater fans the opportunity to own a piece of Milwaukee Repertory Theater history. The prop and costume sale will be held at the Milwaukee Repertory Theater from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
May 4th: Cinco de Mayo Festival
Join El Conquistador Latino Newspaper and UMOS in celebrating the anniversary of Mexico's victory at the Battle of Puebla with the Cinco de Mayo Festival. The celebration will feature traditional Mexican food (including the city's best taco truck), music, dancing, and more. Take on the Tamale Eating Contest and cheer on your favorite models in the Chihuahua Beauty Contest. The festival begins at 11 a.m. and all activities are free and open to the public. The Cinco de Mayo Festival will be held at his UMOS, 2701 S. Chase Ave.
May 4th: Free Comics Day
Manga lovers are happy! Free Comic Day is here! Free Comic Book Day is an annual promotional event that encourages new readers to visit their local independent comic book store and get into a hobby that can be a little scary and overwhelming for beginners. Get a few free comics when you walk into a participating store. And maybe you'll find a new series to collect and start reading. Participating stores in Milwaukee include The Turning Page, Collector's Edge, Vortex Comic, and Kowabunga Comic. May 5th: Riverwest 24 Registration
There are only a few months left until “People's Holiday”. That means it's time for the annual Riverwest 24 registration event. Riverwest 24 is his 24-hour bicycle race, featuring a variety of challenges and activities throughout the Riverwest area. Teams can compete in a variety of categories including Solo, Team, Tandem, Convoy, Elder, and Perfect Stranger. This event is so popular that registration is done as a lottery and you can enter the race once your ticket is called. May 5th: A Complete History of Space and Time (Destination Milwaukee)
Sigmund Snopek III has been a staple of the Milwaukee music scene for over 50 years. Now the musician has his own documentary. A Complete History of Space and Time (Destination Milwaukee) ” is a six-and-a-half-hour documentary that explores the life of Milwaukee's tireless musician. Linnemann's Riverwest Inn is hosting the world premiere of the documentary, which will include two 30-minute intermissions and a Q&A with Siegmund and his co-directors. nick toti and bob mielke.
