of The conclusion of “love” enforced by construction as The Mirage will be transformed into Hard Rock Las Vegas. Rumors began that “Ka” would be the next Silk production to be closed. Potential production partners have recently checked out the theater, just as interested parties have scouted the theater in Luxor. “America’s Got Talent Superstars Live” ends on May 10th.
Cirque responded to inquiries regarding “Ka” by saying that he is looking forward to celebrating the MGM Grand performance, rather than ending it.
“Ka remains one of the most moving and spectacular live productions in the world, and we look forward to celebrating its 20th anniversary in February 2025 and beyond. Established partnerships, incredible artists With world-class, unique productions featuring , and commitment from the highest levels of our international headquarters in Montreal, Cirque's future in Las Vegas remains bright.
“Last year was a record year for Cirque in Las Vegas, and we look forward to continuing to entertain audiences with our portfolio of shows as we explore potential new projects.”
Cirque is currently performing “Mystere,” “O,” “Ka,” “Michael Jackson One” and “Mad Apple” on the Strip. “RUN” and “Zumanity” have closed in the last four years.
“Ka” is reportedly performing better than “Love,” which has typically been recording 40-60 percent capacity since COVID-19, but “O” and “O” are in the 90 percent range. Not as good as “Mystere”. In addition, “Ka” has a contract until November 2026, which was extended for two years due to the coronavirus pandemic. The first preview performance of “Ka's” was in November 2004. The show's original contract was supposed to expire at the end of the year.
In order to close Ka before the legal partnership expires, MGM Resorts will need to negotiate a purchase of the outstanding contract with Silk. Of course it is possible. “Love” is under contract until the end of the year, with the closing negotiated between Silk and Mirage/Hard Rock.
However, when asked if “Ka'' would close, a source said, “There's no chance of that.'' “Ka'' is fine. ”
