Former Baywatch star Nicole Eggert shaved her head amid her battle with cancer.
The 52-year-old actress, known for her role as Summer Quinn in the iconic lifeguard action-adventure series, was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma after discovering a “throbbing” lump in her left breast, which she later diagnosed with Doctors have revealed that they have made another discovery. She has cancer in her lymph glands.
Nicole cut her hair short and asked her 12-year-old daughter Keegan to help her shave it off.
In a video documenting the process, soundtracked by the Beastie Boys' classic “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!),” her daughter helps with any stray hair, and Nicole stays put throughout. He was smiling.
She captioned the Instagram clip with a quote from Madeleine Eames, saying, “Maybe healing involves forgiving yourself for who you are, rather than changing yourself.”
After cutting her hair short, Nicole wrote: “Stay one step ahead of fear and you will never lose #fkcancer #shorthairdontcare.
“Thank you @michelledavidhair for laughing with me and giving me this cute new hair just when I was about to shave. (sic).”
Nicole recently said she believes she would have found the lump sooner if she had had breast implants.
She told Inside Edition: “If I didn't have breasts and had smaller, more natural breasts, I'm sure I would have felt it sooner.”
Of the devastating diagnosis, she added: “My heart dropped, I lost all my hearing, everything just sank in.”
Nicole was diagnosed with the disease in early December 2023, but initially mistook her symptoms as signs of menopause until she discovered a lump.
“It was really throbbing and painful. I went straight to my GP and he told me to see him right away. But the problem was, I couldn't get an appointment. Everything was booked.” she told People magazine. “So she had to wait until the end of November to get it done. This journey has been tough for me. It's never been an easy purchase in my life.”
“I'm always reading inspirational quotes and corny things that keep me going.”
The former Charles in Charge star and mother of Dilyn, 25, with ex Justin Harwick, is determined to fight the disease for the sake of her children.
She said, “I do feel it. It's there. It needs to be removed. So the question is, do I have to treat it before the surgery or can I do the surgery and then do the treatment?” That's all,” he said.
“I panicked and said, 'Please get this out of me, you're sitting there and it's inside you and you're like, every second it's inside me. It's like it's growing and you just want it out.
“Dirin is an adult, but I have a 12-year-old child at home and I am the only one to take care of him. I have no family, I don't have anything. I quickly realized that I had to succumb to this. “I have to get over this. This is something I have to get over. She needs me more than anyone else.”
