Where to place your TV is one of the most important decisions you need to consider in your home entertainment setup. I think it would save space if installed, but it would require some DIY work. However, if installed above an entertainment center, the height may be too low and may be affected by glare.
That's when I had an idea. Perhaps the best TV stand is actually one that can change its height on demand – a standing desk.
Among them best standing desk In the field, the FlexiSpot E7 was the perfect choice to replace my small TV stand. The 60×30 inch bamboo desktop has proven to be the perfect range for most UST projector and TV sizes.
The feel of my living space has definitely changed, but there's a lot to be said for the switch, and to be honest, I might never go back to a typical TV stand. Standing desks have a lot to offer, and regardless of your setup, they offer the best views in the house.
Is a standing desk the perfect home entertainment center?
So let's talk about what makes a standing desk the perfect entertainment center. First, many standing desks (including the E7) have wide bases that can support almost any size TV. Even if you have a 55-inch model. best 85 inch tv, the E7 manages to achieve the perfect balance between form and function. You'll have a little more space under your desk, so you can stuff game consoles, DVDs, and a variety of other things under your desk.
Using a standing desk is also a great way to get the perfect height and angle for your TV. Most of the time you'll want it at eye level, but you might want to watch TV at a higher angle while doing other tasks like folding clothes or washing dishes. Getting the perfect angle is even easier with a standing desk.
Since the height can be changed, you can reduce the burden more effectively. glare from tv in your particular environment. Not all home entertainment setups are the same, so there are various factors to consider, such as ambient lighting and TV placement. While it's not exactly a one-size-fits-all approach, the E7 standing desk definitely makes it easier to reduce glare to some extent.
But unfortunately, for all its positives, it's not perfect.
The good, the bad, and the ugly of standing desks
While there's a lot to like about using a standing desk as a TV stand, I found it to be too bulky for my particular setup. Given that I have a 60 x 30 inch surface in my small apartment living room, I don't have much free space left to move around. Of course, this is not a problem for people who have a lot of space, but if you live in an apartment, it is definitely a factor to consider.
Price differences must also be considered. While most regular TV stands cost around $100 to $250, the E7 standing desk starts at $449. Luckily, there's a sale going on on Amazon that brings the price down to just $350 for the frame and bamboo surface. But it's clear that for just a TV stand, it's still a pretty expensive investment.
Personally, I liked the look of the E7 in my living room, but not everyone will agree. What was once a cozy living room aesthetic now feels a little more like an office. The overall feel of your entertainment setup is very important, but in others, function may outweigh appearance.
Should I switch?
Is it worth converting your TV stand into a standing desk? Definitely not for me, but ultimately it depends on your viewing habits. If you want a little more control and versatility, like raising your TV to get a better angle while doing other tasks, a TV stand is for you.
On the other hand, a standing desk for your TV might be overkill, especially for the price. Because you can easily find much cheaper home entertainment stands on the market. I'm not criticizing FlexiSpot. Even the FlexiSpot standing desk and Pro Plus mesh office chair are great products for their intended purpose, but their aesthetics aren't for everyone.
But for me, I found this TV stand to have a lot of benefits and decided to continue using the E7 as my main display stand. It works as intended, keeping your TV at eye level and minimizing glare to ensure you get the best possible picture. If you're interested, I think it's worth trying out a standing desk.
