Legendary Los Angeles entertainment anchor and reporter Sam Rubin has died at the age of 64.

KTLA News announced Friday that Rubin died suddenly, according to the Associated Press. According to KTLA, Rubin's family confirmed that he died of a heart attack.
“I'm very shocked,” KTLA morning anchor Eric Spielman said, according to CNN. “He was one of my best friends. We worked together every day for 33 years.”
Rubin had worked at KTLA since 1991, according to the Associated Press. He was well known for his interviews with actors and musicians, both in the studio, on the red carpet at award shows and premieres, and on movie junkets.
“He was born to be a broadcaster,” Spielman said.
According to CNN, Rubin was one of the founding members of the Broadcast Film Critics Association. He has appeared around the world, including on BBC television and radio, Australia's Triple M Radio and the Channel 9 television network.

Rubin's last interview was with Jane Seymour on Thursday, the Associated Press reported. He is survived by his wife Leslie and four children.
