Hollywood celebrities took to social media this weekend to remember beloved KTLA anchor Sam Rubin, who passed away on Friday.
“Your professionalism was no match for your kindness and humanity,” Viola Davis wrote on Instagram. “I miss seeing you on the red carpet. God bless your loved ones. Godspeed.”
Rubin is a popular entertainment anchor on KTLA-TV's morning show and has appeared at award ceremonies and red carpet events throughout Hollywood. He died of a heart attack on Friday at the age of 64.
“KTLA 5 is deeply saddened to report the death of Sam Rubin.” Channel wrote to X (Formerly Twitter). “Sam was a giant in the local news and entertainment world and a fixture on Los Angeles morning television for decades. His laughter, charm, and caring personality made him a household name. He touched everyone who knew him. Sam was a loving husband and father, the roles he cherished most. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. ”
Comedian John Mulaney also took time to praise Rubin at the end of the final episode of his television show. John Mulaney Presents: We're all in LAwhich aired live on Netflix on Friday night.
“This is a special Los Angeles farewell to Sam Rubin,” Mulaney told the crowd before the end.
Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos praised Rubin on Instagram, writing, “Awards season red carpets will never be the same without KTLA's Sam Rubin.” She's always so much fun and always smiling and laughing. He was a legend in this town. ”
On Twitter, Written by Ryan Reynolds: “That day I was attending an interview for an 85-year-old and it was always a pleasure to meet Sam. Even though he was doing his 85th interview that day, he always had a genuine kindness. They brought their curiosity and out-of-the-box questions.”
