The Sessions at McPike Park, a popular summer concert series featuring musicians from around the world and supported by various Madison-area nonprofit organizations, has announced its 2024 music lineup. The first of two annual family events. Madison's Near East Side will be held Friday through Sunday, June 14th through 16th, at McPike Park.
The sessions at McPike Park feature concerts on two separate weekends in June and August to raise money for local nonprofit organizations. The upcoming “Pursuit of Happiness” session will begin on his Friday, June 14th and will be beneficial to Friends of Ukraine-Madison.
Touring bands Shamar Allen and the Underdawgs from New Orleans and Chuck Prophet and Mission Express from San Francisco will be on the main stage on Friday, June 14th.
On Saturday, June 15th, there will be music throughout the day with funds raised for Dane Arts and Centro Hispano. Christian and Modesto Nieves Maldonado (Puerto Rico) will appear on the main stage. Mark Croft and John Friesecker. Grupo Rebel; Fable Dance Company (Milwaukee). Paul Seaver Tomorrow Sound. Francisco Medrano Black Power Dance. Americana All Stars featuring Alea and sidemen from Puerto Rico, Colombia, Panama and Mexico.
The Pursuit of Happiness Great Lawn Sunday on June 16th will raise funds for WORT-FM and will feature the Black Star Drum Line. Race with Cramer! Noise Brigade (Chicago); Forward! Marching Band; Mama Dig Downs Brass Band and The Stooges Brass Band (NOLA)
The session will feature a number of local food and product vendors. Click here for the full lineup of other musical performers, dancers and comedians for the event, which will take place on the popular Chicory Stage on the other side of the park.
