river rhapsody
Musicians from the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra perform music depicting nature during the orchestral finals. 2023-24 River Rhapsody Chamber Music Concert Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Clinton Presidential Center, 1200 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock.
Andrew Irvin (violin) and Ed Owen (tuba) will perform “Unterkagner Ländler” Op. 87, No. 2 for violin and tuba by Jan Koetsier. Katherine Williamson, violin. Timothy McDuff (viola), Jacob Wansch (cello), and Hyesin Shin (piano) will perform AntonĂn Dvořák's Piano Quartet in E flat major, Op. 87. Percussionists Madison Sheik, Eric Saud, and Rick Dimond will perform Toru Takemitsu's “Rain Tree.” Then, the orchestral Rockefeller Quartet (Linnea Brophy and Trisha McGovern Freeney on violin, Katherine Reynolds on viola, and Wunsch on cello) will perform Caroline Shaw's “Evergreen.”

The Delta Cultural Center will present the first Louis Jordan Jazz on the River Concert on Friday at 7 p.m., at the Cherry Street Pavilion, located across from the Delta Cultural Center, 141 Cherry Street in Helena-West Helena. lineup:

Exhibition at Van Buren
“Small works on paper” The Arkansas Arts Council's traveling visual art exhibition opens Wednesday at Arts on Main, 415 Main St., Van Buren, and will be on display there through June 24. The exhibition, now in its 37th year, consists of works under 18 byes. -His 24-inch by 39 of his Arkansas artists who are members of the Arkansas Artist Registry. Gallery hours are Monday and Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. A reception will be held at the venue on Friday, May 17th from 6-8 p.m. Admission is free.
