Police are investigating 10 gang members suspected of causing a gang brawl in Haeundae, Busan.
Busan Haeundae Police Station announced on Sunday that it was investigating 10 men involved in the brawl on suspicion of violating the Act on Punishment of Violence.
Last Wednesday, a huge brawl broke out in the adult entertainment area behind the Grand Hotel in Haeundae, Busan.
Police said what started as a one-on-one skirmish escalated over an hour and a half and turned into a gang brawl involving about 10 more men.
Police claim these additional persons arrived at the scene after receiving a tip-off. They reportedly fought in groups.
As a result of the scuffle, surrounding equipment including glass doors was damaged.
Police said some witnesses claimed the alleged thugs were in possession of weapons.
Police said they are proceeding with identification to confirm whether they are actual gang members. They added that they were focusing on interrogating the cause of the fight.
Police said, “We believe the fight may have started accidentally, but the incident is serious and we are investigating it closely.''
Police also announced plans to carry out intensive investigations against these individuals, including seeking arrest warrants.
