Johor Bahru: Out of the 30 people arrested, 11 civil servants were found to have tested positive for various types of drugs during a raid on an entertainment center in Batu Pahat district early this morning.
Johor police chief CP M Kumar said the male civil servants, all aged between 24 and 49, were arrested while having fun around 1am.
He said the other 19 people similarly arrested consisted of 13 local men and six foreign women aged between 17 and 52.
“All those arrested tested positive for various types of drugs, including methamphetamine, ketamine and benzodiazepines,” he said at a press conference at the Johor Police Detachment Headquarters here today.

He said the premises' manager, a 29-year-old local man, was also arrested after he was found to be operating beyond business hours and tested positive for drugs.
Mr. Kumar said the remand application will be made today and the case is under section 39(b), section 55B, section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 and section 11(2) of the Immigration Act. He said that the investigation would be conducted based on this. Johor Entertainment Act 4/98 and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Meanwhile, in another incident, Kumar's party arrested a local man on April 24 and said they seized various types of drugs worth RM2.39 million.
He said a 35-year-old person who is believed to be involved in a drug trafficking syndicate and has a criminal record was arrested in Taman Pelangi here.

As a result of the investigation, various types of drugs were found in the Taman Pelangi terrace house, including 13.6 kg of ecstasy powder, 707 ecstasy tablets, and 2,465 tablets of 5 Elimin tablets.
“The modus operandi of this drug trafficking syndicate is to convert rented rooms in homes into warehouses before distributing drugs to recreational venues and individuals.
“The syndicate has been active since February this year and is believed to have used ready-to-drink packets to repackage the drugs in question,” he said, adding that two cars and RM650 in cash were also seized in the raid. added.
He said those involved who tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine were detained for seven days from April 24 and the case was investigated under section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
