Dua Lipa enjoyed “researching” herself during her time as a single.
The 28-year-old singer, who has been dating actor Callum Turner, 34, since January, and whose ex-boyfriend is Bella and Gigi Hadid's 24-year-old model brother Anwar, released a video in 2019. Added his own song “Training Season”. February primarily reflects a series of dates and long-term relationships set up by her friends.
She told Elle about the date and the song:
“I thought, 'Okay, I'll write what I want to write.'
“The power of words to express things and write down existence. If you understand your worth, you will know what you want and what you don't want.”
Dua added how she was enjoying her single life. “I was talking about this with one of my dancers today, because she was going through a breakup. When I was single, I didn't want a breakup.
“Whether you go on a date or spend time alone, you learn a lot about yourself.
“In silence, you understand who you really are. Roughly speaking, I was doing research.”
Dua released “Training Season” on February 15th as the second single from her upcoming third studio album, Radical Optimism.
She premiered the song at the 66th Grammy Awards prior to its release, and the song reached number 4 on the UK Singles Chart and number 6 on the Billboard Global 200.
The introspective song also reached the top 10 in countries such as Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Ireland, Lebanon, Luxembourg and New Zealand.
Dua, who is also dating French film director Romain Gavras, 42, went public with her romance with Callum in February when she held hands with him at a BAFTA party in London.
He has previously appeared in the Fantastic Beasts series and the TV miniseries War and Peace, and was a model before becoming an actor.
