Hollywood star Keanu Reeves is in talks to join the cast of Swedish director Ruben Østlund's upcoming feature film The Entertainment System Is Down.
The director, who won the Palme d'Or twice at Cannes, touted the film as a disaster movie and promised it would lead to the biggest walkout in film history.
According to entertainment news outlet Variety, the story takes place on a long-haul flight when the entertainment system shuts down, causing chaos and anger among the passengers.
Reeves, star of the “John Wick” franchise, will join an ensemble cast consisting of several international stars.
The film marks Ostlund's English language debut and is a sequel to Triangle of Sorrow (2022), which won him his second Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. The director first won the coveted award for his 2017 film The Square.
“The Entertainment System Is Down” will also be produced by Ostlund with Erik Hemmendorf through the company's flagship Platform Productions and co-produced by Philipp Bober's co-production office.
Reeves, who is also known for films such as The Matrix, Point Break, Speed and Constantine, will next be seen in the John Wick spin-off Ballerina and Aziz Ansari's Good. . luck”.
