Laney Wilson was a Miley Cyrus impersonator during her Hannah Montana days.
The 31-year-old singer has been a longtime fan of Miley, admitting that she performed with the Disney alum during her time on Hannah Montana.
Rainey told E! News: “I love Miley Cyrus, and when I was little I used to imitate Hannah Montana. I did that for about five years. That was my job in middle school and high school.”
Miley, 31, starred in the Disney TV series Hannah Montana from 2006 to 2011, which Laney admits was a huge influence on her own career.
“Every weekend we did birthday parties, fairs, festivals, St. Jude, etc. I opened for 'Hannah Montana' as Laney Wilson,” she said.
Rainey also believes that country music is really becoming more popular right now.
The singer explained: “I've been in Nashville for 13 years trying to do this thing.
“The last two years have been really great. It's really nice to see people keep getting better and better.”
Meanwhile, Rainey recently praised Beyoncé for helping make country music “cool” again.
The singer praised the Grammy Award-winning star after releasing her new album, “Cowboy Carter.”
In fact, Rainey, who moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue her ambitions as a country singer, told Extra:
“It's not just that. Let's be honest, this is the Western way of life. Everyone wants to feel at home, everyone wants to feel grounded. I think so.”
“When I'm riding on the back of a horse, when I'm putting my feet in the dirt, or when I'm listening to a country song, I actually feel like I'm at home.”
