Emily Alyn Lind still remembers the horror movie she made when she was five years old, Enter the Void.
The “Gossip Girl” star played a girl who witnesses her family killed in a car accident in the 2009 film, and even though she was young she remembers the harrowing scene vividly, and it's not until she becomes an adult. I believe that this gave me the opportunity to play a darker side.
Emily, now 21, told The Hollywood Reporter: [film] That in itself was such an experience. I don't know if it's paranormal or not, but it feels like a ghost from the past at this point. When I was about 5 years old, it was the craziest experience.
“People say to me, 'Oh, you don't remember what it was like when you were five or six years old,' but I always say, 'I remember, because I've basically been through traumatic experiences. I think it's because of this.
“Yes, it was fake, but it was an extreme and tragic experience where my character's entire family died in front of him when he was five years old in a car accident. I mean, it was all fake blood. It was a wild experience that involved me doing what I do today.”
Emily has since gone on to appear in films such as The Babysitter, Doctor Sleep, and more recently appeared in the paranormal sequel Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, a genre that Emily has always been drawn to. He says he came. She added, “I've been in a lot of horror movies and things like that. I've perfected my screams so much that I'll have blood on my scalp for the rest of my life.”
“I can't escape horror, but I love the horror genre.”
She went on to claim that she's going to look for a less angsty film for her next project, saying, “Next time I'm going to do something upbeat, and we're going to talk about it. I'm just going to take it easy and be happy. Only,” he added. “A girl with a beautiful family and a dog. I'd be a Norman Rockwell painting. That's what I'm looking for next.”
