Shakira has been “reborn as a woman” after two difficult years.
The pop star split from soccer player Gerard Piqué, the father of her two sons, in 2022, and channeled her pain into her new album, Las Mujeres Ya No Jolan. And Shakira believes that the suffering she endured changed her as a person, and changed her as a person. It made her more resilient.
She told Allure magazine: “I was in a quagmire. I had to rebuild myself, to put all the pieces that had come apart back together. By making this music, I channeled my pain into creativity. I learned that I can make a change.”
“These songs are filled with anecdotes and very intense emotions that I've experienced over the last two years. But making this album was a transformation for me, as I was reborn as a woman. I have reinvented myself in a way that I believe.'' No one tells me how to cry or when to cry. No one tells me how to raise my children, no one teaches me how to be a better version of myself. I decide that. ”
She went on to claim that she feels more in control now, saying, “In the past, when women found themselves in difficult situations, they were more concerned about their manners, hiding their pain, and crying in silence. was expected. That is over now. No one controls us now. No one teaches us how to heal and clean our wounds.”
Shakira previously described the new song as an example of turning pain into success. She told Extra: “I think this album is not only the realization of all the ups and downs, but also the alchemical process, the process of turning pain into resilience and strength. I also think my fans were there. “You're continuing to have a dialogue with me, do you understand?”
“It was really amazing because I felt like not only was I singing for them and they were listening, but they were also talking to me.”
